My real-world recalibration.
Every great project eventually requires a physical reset. Any mine is happening. While the Sovereign Dossier is still open on my desk, my own command centre is undergoing a significant transformation. On Saturday, I began painting my room and making it more of a space to love rather than just a place to exist. We’re not meant to just exist; we’re supposed to live and experience life.
I’ve had this house for 11 years, and it’s never been decorated. This room, in particular, is so basic and dull. It was time to give this room a new lease of life. I went with the Blackcurrant Magic, and my days, it is magic. Despite the colour contrast, this room feels so much lighter, and it makes me happy. It’s funny how one colour can make all the difference.
I had to stop on Sunday afternoon because my roller was pretty crap, lol. It was falling apart and leaving fluff on the walls. I spent a lot of time picking the hair out of the paint. Not good. Looking at it this morning, there are a few patches here and there, but this is a total trust-the-process moment as I will be adding pink to this wall with a sponge. I have massive ideas for these walls, and I cannot wait for the end result. Even if it turns out not to be so good, I don’t even care at this point. It’s better than it was, and I did it myself, without asking anyone for permission.
So a revelation, you know? It’s weird to think that even at 40+, I forget that I don’t need permission. That I can do whatever I want! Do you get that too sometimes? It’s weird. We have freewill and impulses, why do we sometimes feel like we need permission? It’s mindblowing. Who the hell do I need to ask? Lol!
Anyway, I hope this finds you well, and today’s point is to remember you have freewill. You can do whatever you want. You’re a grown-ass adult, in your grown-ass home, with grown-ass money, in your grown-ass life. If you don’t like something or want to change something, then do it! Change it. You don’t need permission. This is your life, Beastie. You are only you once in this lifetime, so don’t waste it on fear, indecision, or procrastination. Just do it!
