From Stagnation to Flow!
The Power of 1k words.
A few days ago, the lab was cold. Between feeling under the weather and the weight of ‘real life’ stresses, the SSCC felt miles away. I binged-watched Gaving and Stacey because I couldn’t get out of bed, and I couldn’t find any motivation.
Today, I was sitting on a zero word count for the week, wondering if the spark would return.
Then I decided my aim today was to write 100 words. If I could do more, great, but my goal today was to do that 100-word count, just a small but consistent feat.
I am delighted to say I ended up with a whopping 1,081 word count for the day.
Chapter 10, New Connection, has officially taken on a life of its own. I dived deep into the backstories of five people I cannot wait for you to meet. Sharon & Paul, Megan, Tom & Will.
It just goes to show and serves as a good reminder that sometimes, the hardest part isn’t the writing itself, but just giving yourself permission to start small. The ‘Celtic Knot’ of this story is tightening, the Alliance is gathering, and tomorrow, we keep weaving.
