They say that in alchemy, you cannot create something new without first breaking down the old. This past week, my digital ‘laboratory’ felt more like a construction site. Between stubborn ‘Gubbins’ in the code and a few midnight marathons, I realised that the old foundation couldn’t hold the weight of the stories I want to tell you.
So, I decided to perform a bit of architectural transmutation.
I’ve moved into a new home. It’s a space built with more intention, clearer lines, and—most importantly—a lot more warmth. The ‘Purple Void’ has been banished, the walls have been repainted, and the dust has finally settled. I wanted a place that felt as homey and welcoming as a favourite armchair, where the structure serves the spirit of the story.
And here it is!
The site has been rebuilt, and I think she’s beautiful.
Now, of course, all this architectural tinkering had a single purpose: to clear the path for Book 2, Breathe.
While I was battling the ‘Gubbins’ in the code, the characters were still whispering in the back of my mind. I’m thrilled to say I’ve reached Chapter 8 and I am officially in a ‘sprint’ toward the finish line. Sometimes you have to fix the broken floorboards of your digital home so you can finally sit down, be still, and let the Alchemic magic of the story take over.
Now that the site is settled, I’m heading back to the keyboard this afternoon to keep that momentum going.
